In order to administer an intradermal injection properly, you will need to first prepare the medication and wash your hands. Before inserting the needle, make sure to pull the skin taut and angle the needle properly. While you are administering the medication, watch for a weal (a small, bubble-like mark under the skin) to appear. This indicates that the medication has been administered properly. Once the medication has been administered, remove the needle slowly and discard it in a sharps container.
